There seems to be an inadequacy of information and resources provided to individuals in regard to finding affordable mental health care. In combination with the stigma attached to mental illness, there are many individuals who have remained silent, despite the need for care and support, due to the extreme difficulties of accessing affordable mental health services. We need to help reduce the stigma, encourage mental health professionals to offer lowered-fees (either sliding scale fees or pro-bono hours), and connect individuals in poverty and with low income to accessible and affordable mental health care. Help fight against the silence!!! Close

As a non-profit organization, Psychological Connections is built around mental health professionals and community mental health agencies that provide accessible services to underserved communities throughout the United States. Our goal is to provide a free database of psychologists and mental health agencies that offer their services on a sliding scale basis, or have pro-bono hours available. This service is free both for the public, and for any psychologist or community mental health agency that wishes to list their services with us. Psychological Connections does not provide psychological services directly, however, we hope to facilitate your access to affordable providers who can.
At Psychological Connections, we believe that everyone is entitled to his or her mental health, despite what barriers may stand in the way. As the need for psychological services increases, Psychological Connections will do our part to facilitate access in your community.
We believe that the ideas behind our project are truly important goals for the field of psychology. Our only hope is to see more individuals with low income and limited resources find accessible mental health services. By reaching out and providing free listings ourselves, we hope to enable this connection between potential clients and providers, and promote greater focus on lowered fees and pro-bono work.
