Project Mercy is working to teach self help to the people of Yetebon Ethiopia. Many people of the region are forced to live on the streets because they can not make an income due to their lack of skills. Project Mercy teaches skills such as cotton weaving, embroidery and jewelry making to women or construction, metal carpentry and masonry to men. They have given Yetebon the Medhane-Alem School where they teach health education about HIV/AIDS as well as course subjects. The School Meal program nourishes the students of the school with two meals per day, giving them the vital vitamins they do not otherwise receive. Project Mercy believes that providing a means for a sustainable food source is the key to eradiating future famine and provides an agriculture program to Yetebon's residents. The Ethiopian government has asked Project Mercy to care for 30 orphans of the Oromiya Region whose parents lost their lives due to HIV/AIDS. Project Mercy values human life, do you? Close

By providing self-help programs, Project Mercy seeks to reduce the needs for crisis-driven, emergency aid. Through our holistic development plan, Project Mercy strives to make the Yetebon people self-sufficient. We seek to eliminate famines through creating a reliable food supply. We teach valuable trades to give people a means of generating income. Through access quality health care, we treat illnesses and educate the population about healthy lifestyles. By constructing schools, we give children the tools to create a better, more educated life for themselves and their community. Our vision is to create a thriving, independent community that empowers this generation and generations to come.
