There is an attempted child abduction every 11 seconds in the United States. EVERY 11 SECONDS!! 1,500 children die from abuse each year. More than 2 million cases of child abuse and neglect are reported each year in the United States. So many cries continue to go unheard each day.
There are child predators in every state, in every town just waiting for an opportunity to strike. We, as parents and adults, have to enforce safety amongst our young impressionable and especially naïve children. Never leave your young child alone in a car, park, mall, or restaurant, not even for a moment! Always make sure you examine all public restrooms BEFORE allowing your child to enter! Most importantly parents, please sit down and talk to your children everyday about the dangers of strangers! Only by working together can we prevent the needless tragedy of a missing or hurt child! Child abuse, including sexual exploitation of children & SBS, is a problem reaching epidemic proportions in the U.S. Statistics alone, cannot convey the horror of physical assaults upon children in our society. Perhaps the less fortunate children are those who do not die as a result of abuse. Those who must live in pain and fear throughout childhood. We must return to the fundamental principles of our Constitution and the basic objectives of the American government: Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. How can children enjoy liberty and happiness when adults inflict pain upon them, exploit them and deprive them of physical affection? Please join me in this fight against child abduction and child abuse. Let us be a voice for our young who deserve a chance to grow and lead a normal life! Close

Stopping Child Abuse Before it Starts!
The mission of the Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Center is to break the cycle of child abuse by equipping parents for success. Our mission resonates through our four educational and counseling programs for families at risk for abuse. The center works to empower its clients by teaching positive parenting methods and supporting parents in strengthening their families emotionally, economically, physically, and socially.
This 10-10-10 Campaign has been designed to help our organization continue to grow in light of the current economic turmoil. With negative trends on the rise (teen pregnancy, child abuse and neglect, other family violence) and helpful services on the decline (agencies having to close their doors or cut jobs), it is more important than ever to empower our community to take action and get involved. We need your help.

Childhelp® exists to meet the physical, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs of abused, neglected and at-risk children. We focus our efforts on advocacy, prevention, treatment, and community outreach.
Founded in 1959 by Sara O’Meara and Yvonne Fedderson, Childhelp® is a leading national non-profit organization dedicated to helping victims of child abuse and neglect. Childhelp’s approach focuses on prevention, intervention and treatment. The Childhelp® National Child Abuse Hotline, 1-800-4-A-CHILD, operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and receives calls from throughout the United States, Canada, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and Guam. Childhelp’s programs and services also include residential treatment services (villages); children’s advocacy centers; therapeutic foster care; group homes; child abuse prevention, education and training; and the National Day of Hope®, part of National Child Abuse Prevention Month every April. Several of Chidhelp’s programs were firsts, and continue to be studied by professionals worldwide as "models that work." Sara O'Meara and Yvonne Fedderson continue to actively lead the organization and provide its vision, serving as Chairman/CEO and President, respectively.

CUN is a proactive organization created to bring attention to the plight of at-risk and foster youth. The goal is to reach as many children in out-of-home care by offering role-model support, guidance, a sense of community and promote the importance of an education. Inspired by the Day of the Child, CUN wanted mentoring to be more accessible to children living in foster care and therefore created a mentoring program to be administered in every city nationwide.
