GOGI is dedicated to the EDUCATION, and EMPOWERMENT of incarcerated men women and children.

GOGI teaches inmates in a Campus-like environment, to adopt the tools taught in the TEXTBOOK, Prison-Getting out By Going In-by Dr. Mara Leigh Taylor. Students are assigned homework, and weekly exercises- all facilitated by a RAPID CHANGE THERAPIST. (RCT) GOGI’S GOAL: REDUCE RECIVIDISM (nationwide) and how we are doing it:
GOGI graduates are assigned a COACH upon release, to guide them through re-entry process. An increasing # of graduates are required by the courts to participate in community services after their release. GOGI aims to break the cycle of incarceration. GOGI serves a network for GOGI graduates, peers, and community support. GOGI has graduated 600 adults and juveniles from the 6 week GOGI Program. Dr. Taylor implemented the program 6 years ago at Terminal Island, and invests 60 hrs week doing GROUP/INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING, PSYCHIATRIC CARE, EDUCATIONAL and SOCIAL SERVICES. GOGI currently has a waitlist of schools, prisons, rehabilitation facilities, and after-school programs wanting to implement the GOGI program. PEPPERDINE University has an approved practicum for Psychology Masters’ students, with more than 2 dozen students on the waitlist, and other universities interested in offering the GOGI program to their practicum students as well- all of course, pending on funding.
