Helping the Detroit Area by giving to local Detroit Charities.
We will give mostly to 501(c)(3) Detroit Charities. Also we will handle small Detroit Area projects, Park & Playground improvements.
Some of my favorite Detroit Charities are:
Habitat For Humanity
Meals on Wheels
Capuchin Soup Kitchen
Gleaners Food Bank
COTS Detroit
For now, all money donated will go to Habitat For Humanity Detroit. If you would like money to go elsewhere let me know. I am working on getting my 501(c)(3) corporation setup so DetroitCharities.com can take donations. Also a website is in the works where members can donate their money to a specific cause, spread it over a few causes or pick a project such as Detroit park/playground improvement.
-Thanks for looking

Habitat for Humanity Detroit provides a "hand up", not a "hand out" to families in need in the city of Detroit.
We offer our partner families an opportunity to help themselves, to own a decent, affordable home of their own, which they pay for and maintain.
Partner families invest hundreds of "sweat equity" hours building their homes and the homes of others. Houses are sold at no profit and with no interest charged. Mortgage payments are placed in a fund used to finance additional houses.
Volunteers provide the labor, and individual, church, and corporate sponsors provide the money and materials to build Habitat houses.

Being actively involved in the community is very important to the Detroit Lions and Ford Field. Through the many programs supported by Detroit Lions Charities, as well as by the individual efforts of our players, coaches and staff, we hope to make a positive impact. We see that as a responsibility as well as an honor and privilege to be as good of corporate citizens as we can be.

The mission of the Meals On Wheels Association of America Foundation is simple yet ambitious: the eradication of hunger and malnutrition among America’s seniors and others in need.
Because of the enormity of this undertaking, the Foundation recognizes that its mission cannot be achieved by a single entity or by a single initiative alone. Therefore, the Foundation intends to accomplish its mission through a variety of activities, namely public awareness-building, research, education, fundraising and community involvement.
The Foundation’s purpose and vision are much more expansive than simply providing financial support to local senior meal programs, however. The Foundation intends to become the nationally-recognized authority on and voice for senior nutrition and hunger issues in the United States. It will be the entity to which the general public, the corporate sector, and public policymakers at every level of government will turn both for information about and for opportunities to contribute to the effort to eradicate senior hunger in America.
