I lost my mother to breast cancer and leukemia at the age of 22.
I credit my mother’s inspiration for her passion to educate individuals about the importance of early detection and cancer prevention and I pledges to reach out to as many individuals as possible in hopes to spark conversation about cancer and demystifying the negative stigma, which makes people so scared to talk about the illness. She states, “It is important to remember there is hope after a cancer diagnosis. We just have to remember to be proactive patients and seek knowledge for our families and ourselves.”
