One day I was on Dallas News looking for 4 articles that were related to family law for my family law course assignment I am taking for college. I saw a headline that got my attention. I clicked on it and was quickly disturbed when I learned that Texas is number 1 in deaths related to child abuse. The extreme high numbers just left me speechless. And the fact that there was no specific reason as to why only that there was lack of funds. Funds for what I don't know? A couple days later I received an email from a friend and it was a story about a little girl being abused by her father. As I scrolled down to the end of the story at the bottom were pictures of the badly beaten little girl along with other pictures of children that had been abused. My mouth dropped, tears filled my eyes, and ever since I have not been able to get the image of that little girl out of my head. I have 2 children of my own, and the idea that anyone could harm a child is beyond unbelievable to me. Close
