Investing in the relationship between parents and children during the early years of the child's life has one of the best cost/benefit ratios of any other investment we can make. For every dollar invested in promoting strong family relationships and preventing child abuse and neglect, at least 3 dollars are saved in medical costs, special education costs, welfare, mental health treatment, and the criminal justice system. The Child Abuse Prevention Center helps teen parents learn about their child's physical and emotional development and promotes a strong relationship between the parents and their child. Your investment provides rich rewards, not only in reducing rates of child abuse and neglect, but in producing school-ready children who are less likely to have serious behavior problems, mental health issues, or to enter the criminal justice system. I am very concerned about the escalating rates of child abuse and neglect in our community, and I believe that the best way to stem it is to support programs that prevent abuse/neglect before it ever gets started. I hope you agree. Close

Stopping Child Abuse Before it Starts!
The mission of the Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Center is to break the cycle of child abuse by equipping parents for success. Our mission resonates through our four educational and counseling programs for families at risk for abuse. The center works to empower its clients by teaching positive parenting methods and supporting parents in strengthening their families emotionally, economically, physically, and socially.
This 10-10-10 Campaign has been designed to help our organization continue to grow in light of the current economic turmoil. With negative trends on the rise (teen pregnancy, child abuse and neglect, other family violence) and helpful services on the decline (agencies having to close their doors or cut jobs), it is more important than ever to empower our community to take action and get involved. We need your help.
