In 2006, I felt the Lord had called me to another calling. He has anointed me to go out, as the Bible says, “to the highway and hedges”. I was excited to launch an outreach drill team for my community that will consist of all denominations and youth who do not belong to any church!
The Lord gave me the name EAGLE WINGS DRILL TEAM. Our theme scripture is "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." I went to the public schools in my area and advertised to girls age 8-12. It was a great turn out. In 2008, we entered the National Baptist Congress Drill Team completion and won the outstanding first year award trophy.
I am proud to say that the Eagle Wings Drill Team has been in existed for two years and have 27 girls. We have reached over 70 girls in our community with this program.
Our performances have one goal: to lift up the name of Jesus Christ everywhere we go. The Bible says, “…if I be lifted up I will draw all men unto me.” St. John 12:32
My objective is to encourage girls to establish a personal relationship with Jesus Christ by instilling God’s word in their hearts. “Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against God.” (Psalm 119:11). I believe this is the most important commitment that can be made in the girls’ lives. I want to let them know that Jesus has a purpose for their lives, and He wants to reveal that purpose to them.
