The North Pole Endurance team and I are committed to raising money to fight AIDS and to support the performance of exceptional classical music.
Both causes have a significant impact on our lives. Music is essential now as much as ever. In times of stress and worry, finding ways to rise above and reach for beauty are even more important to community and well being. Providing relief for men, women and children with AIDS bolsters the moral of our communities. In these hard economic times, both causes are in critical need of your support.
AIDS has claimed the lives of more than 576,000 Americans with more than 5,300 of the deaths being children under the age of 15.
Despite recent advances in medical treatment, the AIDS epidemic is far from over. This is the tenth year that we have been running marathons to raise money to help men, women, and children with AIDS lead longer and better lives. The need for your support is greater than ever. We are asking you to please help us reach our fund raising goal by donating to our cause.
We would run 100 miles to extend the life of a child one day. Close

THE CITY CHOIR OF WASHINGTON made its debut in 2007-2008 with GRAMMY Award-winning conductor, Robert Shafer, Artistic Director. The Choir’s first performance of Handel’s Solomon, before a sold-out audience at the Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall and Arts Center in Alexandria, Virginia, included soloists Darryl Taylor, Amanda Gosier, Angeli Ferrette, and Ole Hass. Washington Post music critic Stephen Brookes described it as “a triumphant debut” in which “….Shafer drew a virtuosic performance from the ensemble—detailed and powerful, with superb balance and control over his forces.”
