Hello!
As a former University of Texas at Austin journalism student I interned with Latinitas, an online magazine and non-profit organization dedicated to empowering and creating healthy, successful Latinas. What I learned first-hand was that there are not enough magazines teaching our young girls the important things in the world (beyond fashion and celebrities). Latinitas helps to teach them how to love who they are and furnish their natural talents.

In addition, I am also an advocate of FRIDA, which promotes free thinking to high-school aged students through art. Specifically, they focus on a region where I am originally from, which happens to have a high poverty rate and illiteracy rate (the Rio Grande Valley). I have a very dear friend that works for FRIDA and I support her and her success at creating students to use art as a bridge to creative thinking, problem-solving and self-development.

In addition, I am currently having a fundraising event for Best Friends Society, a charity whose mission is to have no more homeless pets! Please see my cause page and help me through the month of December. Thanks!
