Dear Friends and Family,

I am proud to announce that I have been chosen to participate in the Alternative Spring Break Program which gives students the opportunity to travel during spring break and serve a community in need. I will be volunteering with an Organization called Orphanage Outreach where I will work with orphans in Monte Cristi, Dominican Republic with a team of 10 other Northeastern students. Part of my responsibility as a member is to now fundraise to cover my expenses; travel, lodging, food, supplies, and program fees.

Through my participation in this trip, I will learn not only about the historical, cultural, social, political, and economic aspects affecting Monte Cristi, but I will also learn more about myself and develop my leadership and communication skills. This opportunity will truly
enrich my experience as a Psychology major, and it will assist me in building lasting relationships with community members, program directors, and others who are also passionate about child welfare.
